about OUR FAITH

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God and are the only and final authority of faith and life.

We believe in one living and true God, the Creator, existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Father, born of the Virgin Mary, His perfect humanity, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His personal triumphant return.

We believe that a person is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, sent from the Father to convict, to regenerate, to indwell, to guide, to teach, and to empower the believe to be victorious over sin.

We believe in two sacraments: Baptism upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ and the Lord’s Supper.

We believe that Christians should live by the principles of love and nonconformity to the world.  We further believe in the principle of non-resistance, including the abandonment of the use of violence, but recognize the personal conviction of the individual to serve his country through military or community service.

We believe in the sanctity and permanency of marriage and the Christian home.

Lower Skippack Mennonite Church is a charter member of The Alliance of Mennonite Evangelical Congregations (AMEC). AMEC is an alliance of congregations formed in 2002 in order to maintain a Biblical, Anabaptist and Evangelical heritage. It is a partnership of congregations in voluntary alliance with one another with a common commitment both to the doctrinal foundation of evangelical orthodoxy and to the worthy tenets of historical Anabaptism. AMEC aims to enable affiliated congregations to faithfully fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
